NIX.CZ association, operator of neutral connecting node for the Czech Republic, announced acceptation of a new member of FENIX security project. COOLHOUSING company, operator of a proprietary data center in Vinohradská Avenue in Prague, has become the ninth member of this project and became part of group of other major reliable and safe internet providers, such as ACTIVE 24, Casablanca INT, CESNET, CZ.NIC, ČD - Telematika, Dial Telecom, Seznam.cz and O2 Czech Republic.
FENIX project was established within the Czech NIX.CZ peering node back in 2013 as a reaction to massive DoS attacks against major Czech media, banks and operators. The aim of the project is to ensure availability of internet services in case of DoS attacks within participating entities. Coolhousing company has now become a part of the team, which is better prepared to protect their customers in case of DoS and DDoS attacks.
FENIX is acknowledged by experts and should be a guarantee of safe internet in the Czech Republic. „Network security has always been our most priority, which we clearly prove by entering this unique project,“ said Karel Umlauf, Coolhousing company executive.
One of the pre-requisites for entering the FENIX project is establishment of a proprietary CERT (Computer Emergency Response Team). In case of a massive threat of Czech internet these teams join forces and agree on switching to highly secured operating mode within NIX network.
„Coolhousing had to comply with various conditions stipulated in FENIX project rules. Entities participating in this project clearly show that they really care about the network security and safety of their clients“, added Mr. Umlauf.
