Standard & Poor's Announces Changes in S&P Euro and Euro Plus Indices

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P Euro and S&P Euro Plus Indices after the close of trading Friday, December 3rd, 1999: -- Following the acquisition of Hoescht AG by Rhone-Poulenc, Rhone-Poulenc's investable weight factor will be revised to 0.86. The S&P Euro Index covers the Eurobloc countries; the S&P Euro Plus Index covers Continental Europe by including the Euro markets plus Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. The S&P Euro Plus Index contains 200 constituents, and the S&P Euro Index, a subset of Euro Plus, contains 159 constituents. The Indices provide geographic and economic diversity over 10 industry sectors. The indices are calculated real-time by Reuters.
