Visteon Strengthens Global Expertise With Addition of Buker to Leadership Team

DEARBORN, Mich. (PROTEXT) - Visteon Chassis Systems will beled by a new world-class vice president Edwin L. "Ed" Buker, whohas been appointed vice president and general manager effectiveimmediately. He succeeds Ray Schaffart who has elected to retire at the endof the year. Buker brings exceptional talent and experience to Visteon. Hejoins Visteon from United Technologies Automotive where he waspresident, Electrical Systems - The Americas. In this position,Buker was responsible for managing all phases of electrical andelectronic systems development at United Technologies Automotive.He was responsible for 30 plants and technical facilities inNorth America and the Asia-Pacific region and brings outstandingleadership qualities, operations expertise and global customerrelationships to Visteon. Prior to his position with United Technologies, Buker was vicepresident of new model development for BMW ManufacturingCorporation in Munich, Germany. Buker also served as vicepresident of manufacturing for BMW's Spartanburg, South Carolinafacility. In this capacity, he was the first U.S. associate sentto Germany by BMW to establish and lead production of five newvehicle models for the North American market. Prior to BMW, Buker spent eight years with Honda of AmericaManufacturing, Inc., in Marysville, Ohio. He spent five years asvice president and plant manager of Honda's East Liberty, Ohiomanufacturing facility. He also served as Honda's vice presidentof auto quality. In this role, he was responsible for NorthAmerican product quality, new model engineering for manufacturingand areas such as warranty, feedback and claims.
