Tele Danmark to Deploy IP Fax Services with Open Port's IP LaunchPad(TM) / Telecom Provider Blazes New Territory with Next Generation IP Services

GENEVA (PROTEXT) - Open Port Technology(R) Inc. announcedtoday that Tele Danmark will be one of the first serviceproviders in Europe to deploy Open Port's new Internet servicescreation platform, IP LaunchPad. IP LaunchPad was announced inlate March, and has been enjoying great acceptance in themarketplace with a number of other service providers. Inaddition, IP LaunchPad has recently won CTI Editors' Choice andFax Direction's Analysts' Choice awards. Tele Danmark will offer a range of Fax-over-IP services to itscustomers later this year. Both enterprise and residentialmarkets will be able to enjoy the increased functionality ofthese value-added fax services throughout Northern Europe. BothTele Danmark and its subsidiaries will offer Fax-over- IPservices to their customers. IP LaunchPad is Open Port's Internet services creationplatform -- "an operating system for IP applications." Industry analysts estimate that consumers and corporations cansave from 30 to 70 percent in long distance charges by deployingfax-over-IP. Since its inception of just a few years ago, fax-over-IP has gained momentum. Industry analysts predict that themarket for fax over IP will grow from $80 million in 1999 to $4billion in 2002. Fax-over-IP is the first PSTN application thathas migrated to the Internet. Many others, such as voice-over-IPand universal messaging, are expected to grow even faster. Infact, voice-over-IP is expected to grow from $60 million in 1999to nearly $5 billion in 2003.
