Sony Dream World enjoys outstanding success * Entertainment, technology event exceeds expectations with more than 30,000 visitors

PARIS September 11 (PROTEXT/PRNewswire) - As Sony Dream Worldin Paris drew to a close on the evening of Sunday, 7th September,visitor numbers confirmed that this showcase of what Sony has tooffer for the broadband, connected lifestyle has been anoverwhelming success. More than 30,000 people passed through thedoors at this two-day event at the Palais des Congrčs, a figurewhich has exceeded all predictions.
"Everyone here on the team is extremely happy by the public'sresponse as it endorses the fact that we have staged such a greatexperience," says Yukio Ishikawa, Sony Europe overall projectleader for Sony Dream World 2003. "We welcomed a whole range ofpeople, from young adults and families with children totechnology enthusiasts, business customers and journalists.Not only was there so much for everyone to see, do, and listen toat Dream World, it was a completely unique opportunity to see theSony group in action."
More than 4,000 visitors signed up for My Sony, the Sonyglobal customer personalisation programme which launched inFrance at Dream World. The programme offers the customer a hostof benefits according to their preferences and profile and issupported by a new Internet portal for Sony businesses.
Sony Dream World provided visitors with two days of stunningentertainment and cutting edge technology. The event includedlive shows from Sony Music Entertainment artists, a filmscreening from Sony Pictures Entertainment, visitor experienceswith AIBO and QRIO entertainment robots, a host of PlayStationconsoles and games, and a multitude of Sony and Sony Ericssonproducts. It was the first time that the Sony companies in Europehave exhibited together under one roof.
Sony is distributing the proceeds from ticket sales to UNESCO(the United Nations Educational, Scientific and CulturalOrganization) and is donating a similar amount to HandicapInternational, which provides assistance to people madevulnerable from armed conflict.
