PROTEXT: The new offer from INTERNET OnLine for DEDICATED DELL SERVER - the service for server leasing including housing and connection to the Internet

PRAGUE, July 26 (PROTEXT) - INTERNET OnLine, the Internet unit of ČESKÝ TELECOM, a.s., is expanding its current portfolio of DEDICATED HOSTING services and from July, in addition to its already introduced DEDICATED SUN SERVER service, it will offer DEDICATED DELL SERVER. The service offers comprehensive provision and leasing of DELL servers, which are high-quality and reliable hardware products that will extend the services available until now.

The DEDICATED DELL SERVER service includes not only the leasing of a server, its servicing, housing and connection to the Internet, but also a choice of operating systems. A further advantage is credit for 10 GB of transmitted data. Customer can receive this service from as little as 6,490 CZK per month.

The leased server is housed in a data centre with backup power supply and is connected here to the Internet through the INTERNET OnLine backbone network. The service provides a choice of two operating systems. The server is offered as standard with a licence for either LINUX - RED Hat or Windows 2000 Server. Every customer that orders this new service will automatically obtain on the leased server pre-installed software for the operation of web pages. If further software is required from the company Microsoft, this can be ordered and paid for through monthly instalments. INTERNET OnLine is therefore with this expanding offer moving on from its position as an Internet service provider towards becoming an applications provider.

As with the other DEDICATED HOSTING services, the advantage of the DEDICATED DELL SERVER service is above all the possibility for immediate use of a powerful server with software already configured for operation on the World Wide Web. A further benefit is the possibility to obtain hardware, software and connection to the Internet in the form of a service with a system of monthly instalments. The contract is concluded for 12 months and can be automatically extended.

The customer has a server dedicated only for his or her own requirements and can decide on how it is to be used. It is possible, for example, to use it for operating web presentations and applications, electronic stores, editing systems, mail servers, etc. The customer obtains remote access for the leased server, which manages its installation, applications settings and administration. At the same time, the customer leaves all responsibility for the functionality of the hardware part of the server to the operator.
