Philips to Introduce Web- Enabled Mobile Phones Using Phone.com's UP.Browser

Redwood City, Calif. (PROTEXT) - Philips Mobile Phones WithWAP Microbrowser to Combine the Power of Internet Connectivityand Wireless Telephony. Phone.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: PHCM) and Philips today announcedthat Philips Consumer Communications (PCC) has concluded anagreement with Phone.com under which it has licensed thePhone.com(TM) UP.Browser(TM) microbrowser software for use on itsGSM mobile phones. The microbrowser software turns a mobile phoneinto an Internet companion, bringing valuable web functionalitysuch as Email, Internet and corporate Intranet information to thescreen of a mobile phone. This functionality is based on thebroadly accepted Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) which allowssubscribers to access a wide range of web-based information andservices offered by network operators and third-party serviceproviders.
