Storybook Win With TriForce(TM) Putter / Colin Montgomerie WinsAgain With His Odyssey(R) Dual Force(R) 330 Putter CARLSBAD, Calif. (PROTEXT) - Odyssey Golf Staff ProfessionalRich Beem used his Odyssey TriForce 2 Putter to earn his firstPGA Tour victory with a dazzling display of putting at the KemperOpen last weekend. Beem's victory extends the hot streak for theOdyssey TriForce Putters. In the last six weeks, TriForce puttershave been used to win five professional tournaments. OdysseyGolf, a division of Callaway Golf Company (NYSE: ELY), alsotallied two other tour victories over the Memorial Day weekend. "What can I say? My putter was really working," said Beem,28. "I just rolled it beautifully all four rounds. I knew I wasrolling the ball well, so I just made sure I picked a good lineand tried to hit it in the center of the cup. I worked with a lotof different putters before I picked the TriForce, and I'veputted really well with it, even though my scores haven't shownit until now." Beem entered the Kemper Open ranked 147th in putting on thePGA Tour. But he showed superb touch all week with his OdysseyTriForce 2 Putter and was the Kemper's putting leader, averagingjust 1.574 putts per green in regulation. Beem used his steadyputting stroke to pad his lead on the opening holes of the finalround. He jump-started his round with a long-distance 45-footbirdie putt on No. 1, rolled in a 10-footer on No. 3 and jarred a25-footer on No. 5. Beem's short final putt on No. 18 clinchedhis one-stroke victory and earned him a $450,000 first-placecheck, as well as a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour. Alongwith the Odyssey TriForce 2 Putter, Beem also carried an OdysseyDual Force Lob Wedge in his Odyssey staff bag. Beem is the third first-time winner on the PGA Tour this year-- and each of those golfers used an Odyssey Putter in theirinaugural victory. The winner of the MCI Classic in April used anOdyssey Dual Force 330 Putter, while Carlos Franco won the CompaqClassic in early May using an Odyssey TriForce 2 Putter. Elsewhere, Colin Montgomerie used his Odyssey Dual Force 330Putter to win for the second time in three weeks on the PGAEuropean Tour. Montgomerie blew past the rest of the field to winthe Volvo PGA Championship for the second consecutive year. Montgomerie played the final 37 holes in 15 under par. Hisfinal-round 64 included six birdies and an eagle, concluding witha 25-foot birdie putt on No. 18. Odyssey also picked up another victory on the Senior PGA Tourwhen the winner of the Boone Valley Classic made a last-secondswitch back to his trusty Odyssey Dual Force 660 Putter for thefinal round. That helped him recapture the putting touch thatmade him Senior PGA Tour Player of the Year the previous twoyears, as he went on to shoot 66 in the final round for a two-stroke victory and a successful defense of his 1998 Boone ValleyClassic title.
