Merger Creates Powerhouse in Globalization Services

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. As a result,these two global leaders in the language services industry -- nowwith more than 600 employees -- have joined forces to create oneof the top five largest globalization services companiesworldwide. The merged entity will operate as InternationalCommunications. According to International Communication's Steven L.Fingerhood, chairman of the board and chief strategic officer ofthe combined company, annual revenue projected for the nextfiscal year will be in excess of $60 million. The merged companywill have offices in the United States, Germany, China, Franceand the Netherlands, and strategic partnerships worldwide. EquityGroup Corporate Investments of Chicago, a corporate investmentarm of Sam Zell, Cornerstone Equity Investors of New York andDakota Capital Partners will retain substantial minority holdingsin the new entity. By combining the industry sector expertise and broad-basedoperational management of both firms, InternationalCommunications expects to leverage its strength as a globalleader in the technology side of the language and localizationindustry. To meet the growing needs of major global clients, the companyis implementing an internal restructuring that includes theformation of Global Business Groups (GBGs). These groups willoffer customized globalization services in four key clientsectors: Information Technology Telecommunications; EnterpriseSolutions; Life Sciences; and Global Direct Media.
