(PROTEXT) - Lear Corporation (NYSE: LEA)today announced the appointment of Americo Nesti to President -South American Operations, reporting to Lear Vice Chairman JamesH. Vandenberghe. (Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/19990601/DETU010 ) In this new position, Nesti is responsible for directing themanufacturing and administrative functions of the Company'soperations in Argentina, Brazil and Venezuela. Nesti joined Lear in February 1999 as Director of Finance andAdministration for Lear in Brazil. His more than 21 years ofexperience includes positions in senior management, finance andengineering with such firms as Ryder do Brasil, Robert BoschFreios Ltda., and AlliedSignal Automotive Ltda., having worked inBrazil, Mexico and the United States. Prior to joining Lear, hewas Director President of Ryder do Brasil, a wholly ownedsubsidiary of Ryder Systems, Inc. Nesti graduated from Escola Politecnica Universidade de SaoPaulo (Brazil) with a Bachelor of Science degree in MechanicalEngineering and earned a Masters of Business Administration inFinance and Strategic Planning from the University of Michigan inAnn Arbor, Michigan (USA). He and his wife, Maria, who have three children, reside in SaoPaulo, Brazil.
