CLEVELAND (PROTEXT) - OM Group, Inc. (NYSE: OMP) todayannounced that its Board of Directors has elected Edward W. "Bud"Kissel as president and chief operating officer of the company,effective June 1, 1999. He succeeds Eugene A. Bak, who isretiring at the end of June. (Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/19990518/CLTU023 ) Kissel currently serves as a consultant to internationalcompanies, including OM Group Inc., specializing in strategicbusiness issues and President of RotoCast Technologies, Inc., aspecialty cast aluminum mold manufacturer. Prior to starting thatfirm in 1993, he was executive vice president and president ofthe Passenger and Light Truck Division of Continental-GeneralTire, Inc. From 1987 to 1990, he was vice president ofmanufacturing and engineering for Engelhard Corporation, Iselin,NJ, and previously spent 24 years at the Goodyear Tire & RubberCo., Akron, OH, including service as director of operations forthe Latin American Region. A graduate of Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. inMechanical Engineering, he also has a degree in ManagementScience from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he wasawarded an Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship. Bak's retirement follows 29 years of service to OMG andpredecessor companies, including the last five as president andchief operating officer.
