INTERNET OnLine extends its DEDICATED HOSTING service with HEWLETT PACKARD servers

PRAGUE, Aug 24 (PROTEXT) - INTERNET OnLine, the Internet unitof ČESKÝ TELECOM, a.s., is extending its current portfolio ofDEDICATED HOSTING services and, in addition to the alreadyintroduced DEDICATED SUN SERVER and DEDICATED DELL SERVERservices, from August also offers DEDICATED HP SERVER. Thisservice ensures the comprehensive provision and leasing ofHEWLETT PACKARD servers, which enlarges the offer available upuntil now with further high quality and reliable hardwareproducts.

The DEDICATED HP SERVER service includes not only the leasingand servicing of a server, but also its housing and connection tothe Internet, as well as a choice of operating systems. A furtheradvantage is a credit for 10 GB of transmitted data. Customerscan receive this service for as little as 6,990 CZK per month.

The leased server is housed in a hosting centre with backuppower supply, where it is connected to the Internet through theINTERNET OnLine backbone network. This service offers a choice oftwo operating systems. As standard, each server is offered with alicence for LINUX - Red Hat or MS Windows 2000 Server. Eachcustomer who orders the new service obtains a pre-installed andsecurely configured software environment on the leased serverthat provides immediate operation of web pages. If furthersoftware is required from the company Microsoft, the customer canorder this and pay for it in the form of monthly instalments.Through its expanding portfolio, INTERNET OnLine is thus onceagain moving on from its position as an Internet service providerand towards being an applications provider.

As with the other DEDICATED HOSTING services, an advantage ofthe DEDICATED HP SERVER service is above all the possibility forimmediate use of a high -performance server with softwareconfigured for operation of World Wide Web pages. A furtherbenefit is the possibility to obtain hardware, software andconnection to the Internet in the form of a service with amonthly system of instalments. The contract is concluded for aterm of 12 months and can be extended automatically.

Each server is dedicated only for the customer's own use andthe customer chooses the way in which it will be used. It ispossible, for example, to use it for operation of webpresentations and applications, electronic stores, editingsystems, mail servers, etc. The customer has a leased serveravailable with remote access, through which the customer canmanage its installation, application settings and administration.At the same time, all responsibility for the functionality of thehardware part of the server is left to the operator, whichprovides servicing and replacement of any faulty parts on theserver.
