PRAGUE, Oct 23 (PROTEXT) - In October 2001, INTERNET OnLineintroduced several highly effective new features for the WEB PLUSservice, which offers the leasing of web space and virtualservers on the hardware resources of ČESKÝ TELECOM, a.s. Theyare: increase in space for all versions of the WEB PLUS serviceEach customer of the standard versions of the WEB PLUS servicereceives an automatic increase in existing capacity from 20 MB to50 MB, from 50 MB to 100 MB and from 100 MB to 200 MB, whileretaining current prices. Another new item is a reduction inprice of 200 MB of disk space to a mere 790 CZK. increase in effectiveness of Web SQL Console, the only tool forwork with Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 in a web browser environmentEach customer can now use an upgrade tool for work in theInternet environment for virtual administration of own databases.While using the application, it is now possible to create newtables and modify existing ones more easily. The customer has theability not only to create tables but also to set up relationallinks between them, own indexes, implicit values and triggers. update of the Linux operating system for the WEB PLUS serviceEach customer is automatically transferred to the new version ofthe operating system RedHat 7.1 and Linux core series 2.4, andcan in addition use software of the Apache 1.3.20 web server. Anew item is also the MySQL offer with internal support in Czechin accordance with the ISO-8859-21 certification, 3.23 seriesversion. Another part of the updated service is the PHP 4.0.6script language.
The WEB PLUS service has been part of the INTERNET OnLineportfolio since 1999 and enables the easy creation andadministration of an own virtual web server while using advancedtechnologies. The new service enables the creation of webpresentations and interactive applications. From July of thisyear, clients were also automatically granted the opportunity totake advantage free of charge of inclusion in the Kvantumexchange system for Internet advertising.
The entire web server has a high-speed connection to theglobal Internet network through the ČESKÝ TELECOM, a.s. backbonenetwork.
