(PROTEXT) - INS (Nasdaq: INSS), a globalprovider of network consulting and software solutions, todayannounced that it is providing Compaq Computer Corporation withits best-of-breed network monitoring software, EnterprisePRO(SM),as the basis for the Compaq Performance Analysis Service (CPAS).CPAS is a turnkey service that underscores Compaq's commitment tobuild long-term customer relationships founded on consultativeselling of the full capabilities of its IT management portfolio. CPAS is based upon a modifiedversion of the award-winning EnterprisePRO software technologythat can process information captured from Compaq-specificmanagement information bases (MIBs). The EnterprisePRO technologyprovides Compaq server customers with complete, interactiveinformation and reports about the quality and behavior of theirnetwork infrastructure and its devices, including local and widearea network links, routers, switches, and servers. In addition,EnterprisePRO provides detailed visibility into the operation andoptimization of Compaq servers. Information provided by the CPAS service gives networkadministrators insight into various performance metrics such asaverage and peak utilization, errors/discards, memory, and diskspace availability including disk/server trending. With thisinformation, IT management can proactively locate and drill downinto trouble areas to resolve specific performance problems. CPAScan also produce customized historical and real-time reportstailored specifically for the executive, depicting high-levelinformation such as overall network availability, response time,network traffic and average utilization.
