Santa Ana, Calif. (PROTEXT) - Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM),the world's largest wholesale provider of technology products andservices to vendors and resellers, today announced the immediateappointment of Robert D. Grambo, executive vice president of thecompany, to the position of president, Ingram Micro U.S. Hereports to the Office of the Chairman, which is comprised ofJerre L. Stead, the chairman and chief executive officer, JeffreyR. Rodek, president and worldwide chief operating officer, andMichael J. Grainger, executive vice president and worldwide chieffinancial officer. "Ingram Micro is a global company with experienced leaderslike Robert who are skilled in driving customer satisfaction andexpanding our industry position," Stead said. "Robert is an assetto this organization, well-respected within Ingram Micro and theindustry, and the natural choice to lead our important U.S.region." Grambo will lead the company's largest regional operation,with sales of $16 billion for the past four reported quarters. Hejoined Ingram Micro in 1987 and has held key executive positionsin purchasing, product marketing and sales for the company's U.S.region, where he helped lead the sales organization in increasingU.S. revenue from $4.1 to $11.5 billion between 1994 and 1997.During 1998 and 1999, he served first as COO and then aspresident of Ingram Micro Europe, and gained significant globaloperating experience. The company also announced today that Philip D. Ellett,executive vice president, Ingram Micro and president, IngramMicro Americas, has resigned to pursue other opportunities.Concurrent with Ellett's resignation, Ingram Micro's fiveregional presidents report directly to the Office of theChairman.
