HENKEL GROUP APPOINTS NEW VICE-PRESIDENT

DUESSELDORF/VIENNA, Jan 11 (PROTEXT/APA) - The Henkel Group, global market leader in > adhesives, surface technologies as well as industrial and institutional hygiene (together with Ecolab Inc.), and a leading producer of brand-name detergents, household cleaners, cosmetics and body care products, has appointed Ernst Primosch (40) as its new Vice President Corporate Communications.
He will succeed outgoing Jakob Lux (48), who managed Henkel Group's corporate communications since September 1999. His further career plans are not yet disclosed.
Ernst Primosch has been with Henkel Group for 11 years, recently serving as Director of Corporate Communications for Austria-based Henkel Central Eastern Europe for four years.
Primosch has spearheaded broad-based regional marketing and PR programs, positioning Henkel as a market and image leader and helping to drive the company's expansion into 15 countries.
Effective March 31, 2001, Primosch will assume responsibility for the Henkel Group's international communication efforts. "My vision is to implement comprehensive, state-of-the-art communications reflecting Henkel's outstanding market position in the world," he says.
Born in Austria, Ernst Primosch began his career as a consulting engineer in Germany. After studying political science in Erlangen, Germany, he moved to Vienna, obtaining a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the Vienna University of Economics in 1990. He joined Henkel Austria in 1989 as a PR manager, and was promoted to Head of the Public Relations Department three years later. Primosch worked on communications initiatives for the company in the U.S.A. and in Asia before being named Director of Corporate Communications at Henkel Central Eastern Europe in 1996.
Headquartered in Dusseldorf, Germany, Henkel posted sales of EUR 11.36 billion in 1999, with about 60,000 employees operating in more than 70 countries.
