Gensia Sicor Files Lawsuit Against American

(Nasdaq: GNSA)today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Gensia SicorPharmaceuticals, Inc., filed a lawsuit on April 23, 1999 in theSuperior Court of California for Orange County against AmericanPharmaceutical Partners ("APP") for breach of contract, breach ofthe implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, unfaircompetition and declaratory relief. The suit alleges that APP hasbreached a distributorship agreement for certain Gensia SicorPharmaceuticals products by, among other things, acquiring andoperating a business which competes with Gensia SicorPharmaceuticals with respect to some of the same products. TheCompany is seeking damages in excess of $10 million in additionto a declaration that the Company has no obligation or liabilityto APP.
