Further Expansion of Security Measures at Frankfurt Airport

8.10.2001, 12:52

Frankfurt/Main (PROTEXT/ots) - Frankfurt Airport (FRA) - whichalready has very high security standards - has implementedfurther security measures as a result of the latest developmentsin Afghanistan and the surrounding region. Expanded securitycontrols, which have long been required for U.S.-bound passengersand their hand luggage, will immediately take effect for allflights of British carriers operating at FRA. In the comingdays, the extra procedures could cause delays at the controlpoints in the terminals. Therefore, Fraport AG Frankfurt AirportServices Worldwide (the company owning and managing FRA) advisesthese passengers, as well as passengers traveling to the U.S., toplan their itinerary accordingly and to arrive at the airportearlier than usual. To prevent delays at the security controlpoints, all passengers are again requested not to travel withpotentially dangerous items, such as scissors, knives, etc., intheir hand luggage or jacket pockets. Such items should be orleft at home or packed in check-in baggage. ots Originaltext:Fraport AG Im Internet recherchierbar: http://www.presseportal.deFor More Information, Please Contact: Fraport AG FrankfurtAirport Services Worldwide Attn: Robert A.
