Lengnau, Switzerland (PROTEXT) - Do great music and excellentwatches have something in common? Yes indeed, in Rado's opinion. Andsuperstar Vanessa-Mae thinks the same. On 27 March 00, the world-famous violinist gave an impressive concert in Basel as Rado's starguest. This gave a very special accompaniment to the new Rado'Ovation'. In its design, the new Rado is oriented towards the world's firstscratchproof watch, the Rado 'DiaStar', thus embodying a link betweenpast and future. Vanessa-Mae's musical performance directly followsthis basic idea: for her, classical music is the paragon, but thisdoes not prevent her from interpreting it in her own very personalway - daring, different, innovative and futuristic. Just like the newRado 'Ovation'. The large audience of guests at the launching eventon 27 March 00 showed their appreciation of the performance inappropriate fashion - with a standing ovation! Vanessa-Mae was born on 27 October 1978 in Singapore. Her familyemigrated to England shortly after and Vanessa-Mae today considersherself English, although her roots are in Thailand and China. Shetook her first violin lessons at the age of five and her talent wasso impressive that at the age of thirteen, she became the youngestviolinist ever to appear with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Shesigned her first recording contract at the same age. After this, itwas a nonstop success story. The 21-year-old classical virtuoso withthe charisma of a pop star describes herself today as "sensual, affectionate and crazy".
