Czech Technical University and Vladimir Cervenka Consulting Among the Nominees for the European IST Prize

PARIS (France) September 22 (PROTEXT/PRNewswire)- TheEuropean Information Society Technologies Prize (EISTP) is themost distinguished award for groundbreaking products thatrepresent the best of European innovation in Information SocietyTechnologies. It is organised by Euro-CASE with the support andsponsorship of the IST Programme of the European Commission.
The proposals were evaluated by independent experts from 16European countries, nominated by Euro-CASE and agreed by theEuropean Commission. Euro-CASE has proposed 66 "Nominees for theEuropean IST Prize" to the European Commission, including theCzech Technical University in Prague / Dept of Cybernetics(http://cyber.felk.cvut.cz) and Vladimir Cervenka Consulting(http://www.cervenka.cz). The Nominees are drawn from 213innovative proposals from 29 countries and come from Belgium,Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany,Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, The Netherlands,Norway, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and UK.

The EISTP Nominees have successfully gone through thethorough, highly competitive evaluation procedure resulting inthe quality label "Nominee for the European IST Prize". The EISTPNominees receive valuable public visibility and media coverage.
From amongst the 66 EISTP Nominees, Euro-CASE will propose 20Nominees for the European IST Grand Prize to the EuropeanCommission. The Nominees for the European IST Grand Prize will beannounced on the European IST Prize website on 6 October. Theywill exhibit their products at the European IST Prize Exhibitionat the European Commission in Brussels on 30 November - 01December 2005.
From amongst the 20 Nominees for the Grand Prize, Euro-CASEwill propose 3 Grand Prize Winners to the European Commission.
The European IST Prize Awards Ceremony will take place on 23March 2006 at the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna. TheEuropean Commission will select up to 20 EISTP Winners and up to3 Grand Prize Winners.
