Survey Houston (PROTEXT) - Bell Geospace, Inc. announced today thatthe M.V. Northella is currently completing its fourth surveycollecting three- dimensional full tensor gradient (3-D FTG) dataoffshore Europe. The Northella, which began acquiring data in the North Sea inApril, to date has acquired gradient data for six differentcompanies, totaling 10,500 line kilometers. Bell Geospace plansto continue to collect data in the North Sea as long as weatherpermits and will then send the Northella to acquire data offshoreWest Africa. "We are delighted with the Northella's performance and lookforward to a full season of collecting gradient data in Europe,"said John P.A. "We are also very excited about our newsatellite link which allows real-time data transference from theNorthella to our data processing centers in Aberdeen andHouston." The M.V. Northella, a 213' Monohull specifically designed tobe stable in rough seas, conducts Bell Geospace's Europeansurveys. It is equipped with Bell Geospace's second 3-D FTGinstrument, a uniquely configured gravity gradiometer consistingof 12 accelerometers. Originally designed by the United StatesNavy for nuclear submarine navigation, 3-D FTG technology isavailable exclusively through Bell Geospace.
