(Nasdaq: ANCO), aleading application service provider for Internet-based document-management services, today announced an agreement with ViterraEnergy Services of Germany, formerly Raab Karcher EnergyServices, to implement a web-based document-management solutionto provide storage and delivery of customer heating bills. With 1,200 employees at 20 branches throughout Germany,Viterra Energy Services provides energy services to severalhundred thousand residential and commercial properties. Theseservices generate more than 11 million pages of heating billseach year. Before implementing Anacomp's online solution, Viterrasent an extra printed copy of most bills to its local branchesfor verification and correction before billing. Processing andstoring this large volume of paper documents was costly anderror-prone, and resulted in substantial delays in billing andcustomer service. After evaluating several options, Viterra selectedImageSTAR(R), Anacomp's enterprise-wide digital document-management offering in the European market, for the onlinedelivery and storage of these heating bills. The heating billsare now hosted in electronic format and accessed by branchpersonnel via wide- area network. Anacomp's solution delivers theheating bills automatically to each branch for pre-billingverification and any bill can now be quickly accessed andsearched in response to customer inquiries.
