AGCO Appoints Stephen Lupton as General Counsel

ATLANTA (PROTEXT) - AGCO Corporation (NYSE: AG), a majorworldwide designer, manufacturer and distributor of agriculturalequipment, today announced that it has appointed Stephen D.Lupton to the position of Vice President and General Counsel. Mr.Lupton was formerly Vice President, International Counsel. "The appointment of Stephen Lupton as Vice President andGeneral Counsel reflects AGCO's growth as a global leader in theagricultural equipment industry," stated John M. Shumejda,President and Chief Executive Officer. "As Vice President,International Counsel, Stephen has played a critical role insupporting AGCO's substantial acquisition programs in Europe andLatin America. Mr. Lupton's experience will support AGCO as theCompany continues to expand its presence in internationalmarkets." Stephen Lupton was previously Director of Legal Services forthe Massey Ferguson brand, a position he held from 1990 to 1995.From 1975 to 1990 Mr. Lupton was European Legal Counsel of NCHCorporation, a specialty chemical company based in Irving, Texas.In this capacity, Mr. Lupton was responsible for all Europeanlegal services. From 1972 - 1975, Mr. Lupton served as Secretaryand Group Legal Adviser for the domestic appliance division ofGEC plc, an engineering and manufacturing company. Mr. Lupton waspreviously Manager - Legal and Secretarial Services for the UKdivision of General Motors Corporation, from 1968 to 1972. Mr. Lupton received his Bachelor of Law degree from NewcastleUniversity in 1968. He is also a Barrister, having been called tothe London Bar (Gray's Inn) in 1970. Mr. Lupton was born in 1944. Michael F. Swick, who was formerly AGCO Corporation's VicePresident and General Counsel, has been appointed Director ofLegal Services, North America.
