Bell Geospace, Inc. Names Piette Chief Executive Officer

HOUSTON (ots-PRNewswire) - Bell Geospace, Inc. has appointed
Daniel J. Piette to the position of President and Chief Executive
Officer. Piette will oversee all operational, engineering, sales,
and marketing strategies for Bell Geospace, as well as software
and business development in the United States and
internationally. "While I am pleased to be assuming this new
position, I am particularly excited about future opportunities
for Bell Geospace," said Daniel J. Piette, President and CEO of
Bell Geospace. Piette replaces Larry J. White, who resigned to
pursue other interests.
Piette joined Bell Geospace in 1997 as Vice President of Sales
and Marketing, and in January of 1999 was promoted to Chief
Operating Officer and Executive Vice President. Piette has over
18 years experience in the oil and gas industry. Before joining
Bell Geospace, he served as Vice President/General Manager of the
Asia Pacific Region at Landmark Graphics Corporation. He also
held positions at Terra-Mar Resource Information Services, a
software start-up company; David P. Cook and Associates, an oil
and gas software company; and Exxon Company, USA.
Piette holds a degree in Mining Engineering from the
University of Wisconsin at Madison and is a member of the Society
of Petroleum Engineers.
