Leading Semiconductor Industry Experts Join Cymer's New

Scientific Advisory Board
SAN DIEGO (ots-PRNewswire) - Cymer, Inc. (Nasdaq: CYMI) today
announced the formation of its Scientific Advisory Board
comprised of leading semiconductor industry experts. The charter
of the new board is to review Cymer's advanced, next-generation
research and development programs and help guide the development
of leading-edge technology solutions to the semiconductor
industry consistent with the never-ending demands of Moore's Law.
The formation of the advisory board, while complementing
Cymer's existing scientific talent, adds expertise in the areas
of advanced semiconductors, lithographic technology, and high
voltage power pulse systems. New board members include Daniel
Birx, Ph.D., President of Advanced Pulse Power Technologies,
Nigel Farrar, Ph.D., Project Leader, Advanced Lithography of
Hewlett-Packard, Joseph Langston, Department Manager, Advanced
Lithography of Intel, William Oldham, Ph.D., Professor of
Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of
California-Berkeley, and Steef Wittekoek, Ph.D. Executive
Scientist, ASML, retired. Membership on Cymer's Scientific
Advisory Board is on a personal basis. The affiliate companies do

Commenting on the contributions Cymer expects from the
advisory board, Robert Akins, president and chief executive
officer of Cymer noted that its formation demonstrates the
