Production interruption in cement factory in Kraluv Dvur
1.11.2002, 12:40
KRALUV DVUR, November 1 (PROTEXT) - The Board of Directors of
the company Ceskomoravsky cement a.s., which is a part of the
global group HeidelbergCement, decided to interrupt the
production in the factory in Kraluv Dvur. The interruption
includes cement production interruption (till 30 April 2003) and
calcareous clay production (till 30 January 2003).
Ceskomoravsky cements a.s. currently has three factories in
the Czech Republic - in Mokra near Brno, in Prague - Radotin and
in Kraluv Dvur. The optimization of production capacity between
the last two factories mentioned above was the reason for
production interruption in Kraluv Dvur.
The production interruption goes hand in hand with some
employment reduction but the company rail tap line in Kraluv Dvur
will remain in operation, as well as packaging, palette loading
and cement supply, and it will also be necessary to ensure
facility management services in the factory as there will still
be some company divisions, mainly cement sales division, division
of lime and additives sales and division of central maintenance.
The other companies located in the factory premises - TBG
Bohemia, TBG Stredni Cechy, TBG Betonpumpy, Betotech and Trans-
servis are working without any changes.
Company management has prepared a social program for
dismissed employees aimed at lessening consequences connected
with loss of their employment. This social program offers much
more than the employer is obliged to offer pursuant to Labour
Code.
The production interruption in Kraluv Dvur occurred also due
to the current situation on the Czech cement market, which
results in low-usage of current cement factories production
capacities. That is why the company Ceskomoravsky cement a.s. had
to take these awkward measures in order to make their activities
more efficient and in order to ensure the future prosperity of
the company.
