20.09.2002, 12:19
PARIS August 20 (PROTEXT) - The representatives of Project
Austerlitz visited Paris from 16 September to 17 September 2002.
The project leaders met, among others, professor Xaver Galmich,
who is the leading professor of the Department of Czech Studies
at Sorbonne University in Paris. During the meeting they spoke
about possibilities of future cooperation, mainly in scientific
area, which opens to French scientists and specialists access to
Project Austerlitz. The most important point of the stay was the
project presentation itself. This presentation took place on 17
September 2002 in Czech Cultural Centre, which is located in a
historical house in Bonaparte street. The name of the big
Corsican leader seemed to predetermine the success of the whole
event. The audience in the hall, which was completely full,
became silent and started to pay attention when uniformed people
started the presentation in the sound of army drums. The
organizers then presented the whole project idea during a
spectacular audio-visual presentation. The participants were very
interested in the efforts of organizers to make the Slavkov
(Czech Republic) area more lively and to search possibilities how
to make the future international cooperation deeper and closer.
The audience, whose members were a lot of personalities, from
professional historians and journalists to the representatives of
travel agencies, then lively discussed about the Slavkov battle
site for nearly one hour. Then followed the exhibition of the
photographs of Jan Sroubek. Company Vino Marcincak organized
Moravian wine tasting. The project representatives gathered a lot
of new contacts and offers for cooperation. To sum up the stay in
Paris was very successful. As Miroslav Jandora, the project
leader said, a further step to fulfil the project aim was made.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Czech Cultural
Centre in Paris, which made this presentation possible, for
really professional cooperation.
