Lomo Online Photofinishing Presentation at Photokina 2000 (Cologne, Germany), from 20th to 25th September

This is the largest photographic trade fair in the world. Vienna, Sept 18 (PROTEXT/OTS) - Lomo is taking a stand of 500m2 to present a very special agenda targeted to make a LomoKina of the Photokina. The launch and presentation of the new online photofinishing & sharing service Five trips to Tokyo for the Finals of the LomOlympics to be won Free entrance to Photokina for all participants in the LomOlympics LomoFreakShow. Lomo started out in 1992 as an art/culture initiative and has grown to become a vast community of almost 500,000 photo enthusiasts in over 30 countries. From autumn 2000 The Lomographic Society (Lomographische AG) is to be one of the very first firms worldwide offering fast and inexpensive online photofinishing & sharing. The launch of the new service is to coincide with the relaunch of www.lomo.com (one of the most successful Austrian websites). The new Lomo website with online photofinishing is being launched with tHE fIRST LOMOfREAKsHOW... providing the backdrop to a realtime and internet-accessible competition to select five more champion Lomographers who win a free trip to Tokyo for the finals of the LomOlymPics (20th-30th October: see www.lomo.com/lomolympics). Online Photofinishing & Photo Sharing: The LomoLab Lomographers are to have their very own worldwide online photofinishing system. This system is going to enable Lomographers everywhere to have films developed and printed fast and reliably. www.lomo.com/username is to provide password- protected images online, while a whole wad of stuff comes per post straight to one's home: a CD-ROM with all images digitised, traditional enlargements and negatives + a LomoGizmo, free film and the latest LomoNews.
