New Holland Chairman Lloyd Bentsen Resigns

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands (PROTEXT) - New Holland N.V. (NYSE:
NH) today announced that Board Chairman Lloyd Bentsen (78), has
resigned due to health reasons. New Holland's President and Chief
Executive Officer, Umberto Quadrino, will serve as acting
Chairman until the Company's Annual Shareholders Meeting, which
will be held at New Holland's registered offices in Amsterdam, at
10:00 a.m. Dutch time on May 25, 1999.
