John Williams Appointed President and CEO of AUCS Communications Services

Hoofddorp, Netherlands (PROTEXT) - AUCS Communications Services, the European-based global services provider, today announced the appointment of John Williams (52) as President and Chief Executive Officer. He succeeds Aad van Waveren, who will step down from his position at the end of November. John Williams is currently Vice-President of Global Network Solutions for Infonet Services Corporation, California, USA. On 30 September 1999, an agreement was reached between Infonet and Unisource NV under which Infonet will now manage AUCS Communications Services. The two companies are currently finalising a joint business plan focused at giving clients a much broader and deeper portfolio of products and services and access to The World Network(R), Infonet's backbone network which today reaches more than 180 countries and over 3,000 cities worldwide. As Head of Infonet's Global Network Solutions, John Williams was responsible for over 400 staff and a turnover of over US$400 million per year. Prior to his activities with Infonet, John was Sr. Vice President Communication Systems Division for CACI in the USA and has also held senior positions in the airline industry. He holds a degree in Civil and Electrical Engineering from West Virginia University and in Business Administration from Miami Dade College.
