Standard & Poor's Announces Change in S&P United Kingdom 150 Index

NEW YORK (PROTEXT) - Standard & Poor's will make the following change in the S&P United Kingdom Index after the close of business on Wednesday November 24, 1999: COLT Telecom plc will replace Orange plc following the announcement that Mannesmann AG's acquisition of Orange was declared wholly unconditional. COLT Telecom plc is a telecommunications company operating an integrated IP based network linking financial and business centers throughout Europe. COLT's investable weight factor will be 0.73. The company will be added to the Telecommunication Services Sector. The S&P United Kingdom Index contains 150 constituents domiciled in the United Kingdom. The Index provides economic diversity over 10 industry sectors. The index is calculated real- time by Reuters.
