Ingram Micro President and COO Accepts Top Post at Hyperion Solutions Corp.

SANTA ANA, Calif. (PROTEXT) - Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM),
the world's largest wholesale provider of technology products and
services, today announced that Jeffrey R. Rodek, the president
and worldwide chief operating officer, has resigned from the
company to accept the position of the chairman and chief
executive officer of Hyperion Solutions Corp., the worldwide
analytic application software leader with sales of $424.9 million
in fiscal 1999. He has been a Hyperion Solutions board member
since January 1998.
"Jeff's valuable contributions have helped enable Ingram Micro
to grow into the world-class organization it is today," said
Jerre L. Stead, the chairman and CEO, Ingram Micro. "Now, he will
head up a premier technology company and lead it to even greater
achievement. We wish him great success."
Rodek joined Ingram Micro in January 1995 as president and
COO, and was named president and worldwide chief operating
officer in May 1996. Over the past four years, he has been
central to the successful growth of Ingram Micro, overseeing more
than a dozen acquisitions around the world. In addition, Rodek
championed the company's focus on customer service and advocated
the development and expansion of Ingram Micro's global
electronic-commerce, which are company cornerstones today. Prior
to his tenure with Ingram Micro, Rodek spent 16 years at Federal
Express Corp., in several key executive positions, the last of
which was the senior vice president of operations, the Americas.
