24.09.1999, 14:32
SEATTLE (PROTEXT) - WatchGuard Technologies, Inc., (Nasdaq:
WGRD) a leading provider of Internet broadcast security
solutions, announced today that the award-winning WatchGuard
LiveSecurity System has been submitted to Computer Sciences
Corporation (CSC), an authorized Common Criteria evaluation
facility, for Common Criteria Certification. Products on the
certification list are thoroughly analyzed and tested by a
recognized third party evaluator, and are certified based on how
they perform in relation to the individual security product's
security attributes or Security Target. Common Criteria
Certification is a multi-national standard sponsored by the
United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, and
the Netherlands.
"Common Criteria Certification would assure overseas
institutional organizations, such as hospitals and financial
institutions, that the WatchGuard LiveSecurity System has been
certified by a trusted third party organization," said
Christopher Slatt, CEO of WatchGuard. "By completing the rigorous
common criteria certification process we will be able to reach
customers who only purchase products on the certification list."
