Renowned Yardley of London Factory to Shutter its Doors
26.03.1999, 10:26
/ Rabin Brothers Worldwide Announced Today
LONDON (ots-PRNewswire) - The entire contents of the Yardley
of London factory will hit the auction block on April 21st and
22nd, 1999 in Basildon, England. The factory has been closed
following the company entering into receivership last year after
a period of declining sales and market share.
Founded in 1770 in London, Yardley is a fixture in English
culture, used by the Queen and Queen Mother themselves. Yardley
produced such famous brands as English Lavender and other
fragrances such as Tweeds, Panache and Bond Street. Although the
factory itself will close, the brands will continue under new
ownership.
The auction will be a major sale of over 2,000 lots. Worldwide
attendance is expected and will take place via catalog and video
at the 16-acre factory site. Rabin Brothers Worldwide has
conducted numerous auctions for the chemical, pharmaceutical and
cosmetics industries and expects this sale to be one of the
largest in the UK.
Rabin Brothers UK Representative Jason Hart says there will
"something for everyone" at this large auction. Major highlights
include complete production lines for lipstick and mascara
production; powder mixing, pulverizing, pressing and talc
filling; and a large cream mixing department. Also available is a
huge quantity of pallet racking together with forklift trucks,
storage tanks and mobile tanks, packaging equipment and plant
utilities. Hundreds of computers and a large amount of office
equipment should be of interest to the local market.
Details of the sale may be viewed by visiting Rabin Brothers'

and free color brochures are also available by calling tel
