SeaChange International Promotes John Pittas to Vice President of Broadcast Products / IBC '99, booth 11.632

(Nasdaq: SEAC), a leader in digital video server systems for television, has promoted John Pittas to Vice President of Broadcast Products. Joining SeaChange as Broadcast Products Manager in 1996, Pittas was instrumental in the company's development and launch of its Broadcast MediaCluster product family. Today, television operators worldwide rely on these MPEG- 2 solutions for the delivery of their commercials and programs. "John's product management expertise and insight were leading influences in the development of the Broadcast MediaCluster, a product that has affected a significant change on the broadcast industry. John Pittas has over twenty years of experience developing technologies and products for video and film. Prior to SeaChange, he served as senior engineer at IBM Watson Research Center and was principle video I/O subsystems designer for the IBM Power Visualization System supercomputer. Prior to IBM, he held staff engineering positions at Dubner Computer Systems and at the CBS Technology Center. He currently holds four patents for video data manipulation and transmission technology. Pittas is a member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers and the IEEE. He earned a BA in arts and letters from the University of Delaware, and an MA in arts and letters and a BS in electrical engineering from SUNY Buffalo.
