Anacomp Expands International Document-Management

Anacomp(R), Inc. (Nasdaq: ANCO), a world leader in digital document-management solutions, today announced that it has purchased a perpetual, worldwide license for the Archea document-management software suite from Elsag Bailey of Italy. Archea is a component in the range of ImageSTAR(R) solutions that represent Anacomp's enterprise-wide document- management offering in the international market. Extensive capabilities in document capture, indexing, and archive have been developed using the Archea modules. This license will enable Anacomp to independently develop and support this important component of its ImageSTAR(R) offering. Other than Elsag Bailey, Cominformatic, Anacomp's Swiss operation, is the leading provider of Archea-based solutions to the international market. Cominformatic has successfully provided effective ImageSTAR(R) Archea solutions to many of Anacomp's international customers. "The Archea license ensures that Anacomp can itself provide the long-term support our substantial customer base requires as well as improve integration with the ImageSTAR(R) family," said Peter Williams, executive vice president of Anacomp. "This agreement reinforces our commitment to the growth of our digital services offerings." "Elsag is a leading ICT company in Italy with an ongoing commitment to seeking out improved technology solutions for industry," commented Fabio Pasquarelli, the Marketing Communications representative for Elsag. "We are extremely pleased to learn that Anacomp has chosen Elsag technology (Archea) to improve its production results and optimize its business offering. In wishing Anacomp every success for the future, we would like to stress the importance of the operation for Elsag. Gaining an international partner of this caliber, with the capability of developing advanced technology solutions and of supporting a worldwide customer base, will increase the visibility of Elsag technologies in the international market." In two separate agreements, Anacomp has acquired Martec Systems Limited, a leading integrator of Archea-based solutions in the United Kingdom, and a branch of IRCA, an innovative developer of image capture and document-management systems, based in Italy. "The acquisitions of Martec and IRCA expand Anacomp's presence in key international regions and further enhance our capacity to offer a broad range of ImageSTAR(R) applications to companies looking for robust but flexible document-management solutions," said Williams. "Both Martec and IRCA fit well with Anacomp's digital solutions' strategy and gives us the opportunity to more rapidly grow our digital business with existing and new customers." In related news, Chris M. Haden, managing director of Martec, was recently awarded the prestigious Master of Information Technologies from the Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM) International. The designation recognizes individuals who have demonstrated notable achievements in the field of document management. Anacomp images more customer documents than anyone else in the world. The company is a leading provider of digital document- management outsource services, field maintenance services, and document-management systems and supplies.
