NCD Announces Industry's Only Windows-Based Terminal to

Network Computing Devices, (NCD) the leading manufacturer of integrated thin client hardware and software, has announced the availability of the industry's only Windows-based terminal to offer 4/16Mbps auto- sensing token ring technology. The new ThinSTAR 300TR compliments the existing NCD ThinSTAR 300 (10/100BaseT Ethernet model) and is an ideal replacement for ageing token ring devices while also offering legacy and Windows NT application access. Available at an RRP of 580 pounds sterling and available immediately, the addition of the ThinSTAR 300TR to the NCD range now means that organisations can standardise on a single thin client desktop, irrespective of network topology. "The ThinSTAR 300TR is a response to overwhelming customer request for a best in class thin client solution for token ring networks," commented David Perry, Regional Director for NCD. "Previously, customers were restricted to a choice of expensive and unreliable PCMICA options, or ICA-only solutions. This is another demonstration of NCD's commitment to customer freedom of choice," he continued. All NCD ThinSTARs adhere to the Intel Wired For Management architecture, and are plug-and-play for fast and easy set-up. They also deliver desktop peripheral support with many standard connectivity adpaters, and support both RDP and ICA, telnet, X11 and serial protocols.
