Kissel Elected President of OM Group -- WITH PHOTO --

OM Group, Inc. (NYSE: OMP) today announced that its Board of Directors has elected Edward W. "Bud" Kissel as president and chief operating officer of the company, effective June 1, 1999. He succeeds Eugene A. Bak, who is retiring at the end of June. (Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/19990518/CLTU023 ) Kissel currently serves as a consultant to international companies, including OM Group Inc., specializing in strategic business issues and President of RotoCast Technologies, Inc., a specialty cast aluminum mold manufacturer. Prior to starting that firm in 1993, he was executive vice president and president of the Passenger and Light Truck Division of Continental-General Tire, Inc. From 1987 to 1990, he was vice president of manufacturing and engineering for Engelhard Corporation, Iselin, NJ, and previously spent 24 years at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Akron, OH, including service as director of operations for the Latin American Region. A graduate of Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, he also has a degree in Management Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was awarded an Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship. Bak's retirement follows 29 years of service to OMG and predecessor companies, including the last five as president and chief operating officer.
