European Air Express (EAE) Acquires Filder Air

Mönchengladbach/Germany 14. března (PROTEXT) - The homecarrier of Dusseldorf Express Airport in Mönchengladbach - EAE -has purchased Filder Air Service airline in Nuremberg. Thisacquisition will finally make it possible for EAE to startoperation with its own German AOC (Air Operators Certificate)starting with its summer schedule. As a result, the airline willbe able to improve its service even more. Filder had alreadyreceived certification according to the new, stringent JAR-OPS 1guidelines now in effect from Germany's aviation authorities(Luftfahrtbundesamt). Following the purchase, the company wasrenamed European Air Express Fluggesellschaft mbH. Filder'sprevious owner, Kai Schröder, will retain a 35 % interest in thenew company and be responsible for the new company, includingflight operation and maintenance. European Air Express Sales undTravel GmbH & Co. KG will continue to handle marketing. EAE Salesund Travel had leased three Fokker 50s from Denim Air in theNetherlands in the past, and these will be replaced by therecently acquired ATR42s of EAE Fluggesellschaft mbH in time forthe summer flight schedule. "That finally gives us completecontrol over our product, and we are now prepared for furtherexpansion in the future," says Peter Hauptvogel Jun., ManagingDirector of EAE Sales und Travel. EAE now offers service between Mönchengladbach and London-Luton and Munich three times a day. On April 28, summer serviceto the island of Sylt will also be offered again.
