Callaway Golf Staff Professional Bruce Fleisher Charges

Callaway Golf (NYSE: ELY) Staff Professional Bruce Fleisher is quickly becoming one of the Senior Tour's premier closers. So far in his remarkable rookie season of 1999, Fleisher has won every Senior PGA Tour event in which he was leading or tied for the lead entering the final round. He extended that streak this past weekend by winning his fourth senior title, the BellSouth Senior Classic at Opryland. "Could I have imagined this? No, not really," said Fleisher, 50. "Everything has come together for me. My driving, iron play,'s all been fantastic." After winning once in his entire career on the regular PGA Tour, Fleisher is atop the senior money list with $1,104,592 in earnings this year. In his most recent victory, Fleisher used 13 Callaway golf clubs, including a Callaway titanium driver, Big Bertha(R) Steelhead(TM) 4-wood and 5-wood, Big Bertha X-12(R) Irons and Wedges and an Odyssey Dual Force 330 Putter. Fleisher currently leads the Senior PGA Tour in five statistical categories: All-Around, Scoring Average, Putting, Sand Saves and Birdies. Fleisher began his run at the BellSouth Senior Classic title with a second-round 63, which included nine birdies in a bogey- free round. In the final round, Fleisher set the tone with an eagle on No. 10, then rolled in a 12-foot birdie putt on No. 17 for a one-stroke lead heading to the final tee. Fleisher striped his drive to the center of the difficult 18th fairway, then nearly holed out his 5-iron approach from 180 yards. Two putts later he earned the win and the first-place check of $210,000. Callaway clubs were also prominent on the leaderboard at the LPGA Tour Wegmans Rochester International. The winner used a Callaway titanium driver, a Callaway 3-wood and a Big Bertha Steelhead 5-wood to record her fifth win of the LPGA Tour season. The winner closed with birdies on the final three holes, which she credited to her long, accurate tee shots. Callaway Golf Staff Professional Cindy McCurdy finished one stroke back after a final-round 68. McCurdy carried 11 Callaway golf clubs, including a Great Big Bertha(R) Hawk Eye(R) Titanium Driver, 3-wood and 5- wood, Big Bertha Steelhead 7-wood, Big Bertha X-12 Irons and an Odyssey Dual Force 330 Mallet Putter. Callaway was also successful on two of the other major professional tours. The winner of the NIKE Cleveland Open used a Callaway titanium driver to win in a playoff. And on the PGA European Tour, Callaway Staff Professional Pierre Fulke finished third at the German Open. Fulke carried 12 Callaway golf clubs, including a Great Big Bertha Hawk Eye Titanium Driver, a Callaway 3-wood and Big Bertha X-12 Irons.
